West Central London Mind has been changing lives in the local community for over 40 years. Be part of our future and make sure generations to come never have to face a mental health concern alone by leaving a gift in your will.

How to leave a gift in your Will in six simple steps

  1. Calculate the value of your assets and deduct any debt you may have.
  2. Choose your executors to carry out your wishes and name any beneficiaries in your will.
  3. Decide who you’d like to remember in your will. Many people leave gifts to family, friends or charities.
  4. We recommend you get a solicitor to help you write your Will.
  5. Keep your will in a safe place and notify your executors and solicitor where this is kept.
  6. If you decide to leave a gift for us, please let us know by emailing [email protected] so we can pass on our appreciation.

You can also download our booklet, a free Wills Guide, for more information on choosing the right type of legacy for you.

How Your Gift Can Help

Mental health is now the UK’s top health concern and the demand for services has never been greater. Last year, we supported over 22,000 people but the growing need in our communities has stretched resources to their limits. To continue making a difference, we need your help.

Knowing that we can count on gifts in Wills in years to come means that we can plan ahead and continue to support future generations.

My outlook has changed. I am involved in more activities in the community, and I have a better outlook on life and society.

WCL Mind brought me back from the edge. They helped me change the course of my life.

I already have a Will. Do I need to review it?

It’s a good idea to review your Will from time to time to ensure your wishes are kept up to date and it reflects any changes in your family or personal circumstances.

It is also important to check if your estate is affected by inheritance tax as laws around this can change.

What if I want my gift to go to a specific service or area?

If you would like your gift to go to a specific service at WCL Mind, you can ask your solicitor to express this as a wish in your Will.

Can I specify funeral requests in my Will?

Yes. Your solicitor can help you specify the type of funeral you wish to have and include and special instructions. For example, some people ask for donations in lieu of flowers at a memorial service.

Should I let WCL Mind know my decision?

We appreciate that leaving a gift in your Will is very personal, so it’s entirely up to you whether you want to tell us. If you did let us know, we would be very grateful and would love to get in touch to thank you for your generosity in choosing to support us.
