Putting the Fun in Fundraising

At West Central London Mind, we’re incredibly grateful for the creative and generous ways our community supports us, and Charity of the Year partnerships are one of the most impactful. When a business selects us as their chosen charity, it not only helps fund our vital mental health services across Brent, Kensington & Chelsea, Wandsworth, and Westminster, it also creates meaningful, team-building moments for staff through events and awareness-raising.

One shining example of this in action? The fantastic team at Hanne & Co Solicitors, who picked us as their Charity of the Year from April 2024 to March 2025 raised an impressive £9,550.84 (with Gift Aid). This impressive sum was raised thanks to their commitment to their local community through innovative activities.

Their contribution goes a long way and will be ploughed into community services such as  our Walk and Talk  Programme, a vital service that harnesses the power of nature, movement, and social connection to build self-esteem and independence. Our Community Programmes currently receive no grant or statutory funding, relying entirely on donations, which makes fundraising essential.

From the start, the Hanne & Co team threw themselves into fundraising with enthusiasm and their well thought out calendar was jam-packed, gleaning successes to be proud of:

  • A festive Christmas Auction that raised over £4,000
  • Two employees ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon raising £1,001.85 between them
  • Cake sales themed around Halloween, Valentine’s Day, and more
  • Christmas Jumper Day
  • Weekly Dress Down Fridays, with £2 donations
  • Euros sweepstakes
  • “Guess the sweets in the jar” contests
  • Summer picnics and games of rounders in the park

Their efforts weren’t just about raising money, they brought people together, boosted morale, and kept wellbeing at the heart of workplace culture.

We have been supporting West Central London Mind since April 2024 and selected the charity because as a firm based in Wandsworth, we felt it was important to choose a charity whose work is meaningful in our local community. So far, working with West Central London Mind has been an absolute pleasure.

We have worked with Charlotte, Maneet, and Phoebe who have been incredibly helpful, creative and supportive with our fundraising efforts. We have organised a range of events from bake sales to rounders games and held our annual Christmas Auction which raised over £4,000.

To anyone who is considering supporting West Central London Mind, we would wholeheartedly encourage you to. Their mission is so powerful and focuses on wellbeing in our local area, which is very close to our hearts.”

It’s been joyful partnering with the Hanne & Co team over the past year! They have raised a fantastic amount which will make a real and lasting difference to our work. We truly appreciate the creativity, energy, and dedication they brought to fundraising for us.

As a local mental health charity, independent from the National Mind, we’re responsible for raising all our own funds to support our frontline services. That’s why partnerships like this one are truly vital. If your workplace is choosing a Charity of the Year, we’d love you to consider us! Your support will have a direct and meaningful impact on local lives in our community.

Highlights for us as a charity were cheering on Clara and Marnie who ran the London Landmark Half Marathon and meeting the wider Hanne & Co team and their networks at the Christmas Auction.

We’re beyond grateful to the entire Hanne & Co team for their incredible support for our mission and for showing how much joy, connection, and community spirit can come from giving back to your local community.
